  • 50 grams of butter
  • 200 ml milk
  • 500 grams of flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoon fresh yeast (15 g)

  • Bake the rolls in an oven preheated to 180 º C for about 20 minutes.

This is perhaps the most classic sweet bread recipe you can use. It is especially delicious when eaten warm, fresh from the oven, with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 medium eggs (100 g)
  • 7 tablespoons of butter (70 g)
  • A few drops of vanilla extract
  • 200 ml warm milk
  • 30 grams of fresh yeast
  • 50 grams of brown sugar or honey (50 g)

Preparation

  • First of all, it is important to let the fresh yeast ferment. You can do this by soaking it in a bowl with the warm milk and sugar in it. Let it stand for 5 minutes.
  • Sift the flour and let it settle on your counter. Then make a kind of hill out of it, roughly in the shape of a volcano. Then put the butter, an egg, the salt and the vanilla extract in the middle.
  • Then add the yeast and knead everything well until you get a soft dough.
  • When the dough no longer sticks to your hands, knead it on the counter for a while until it is soft and elastic.
  • Then let it rise with a tea towel over it, until it doubles in volume (about 45 minutes ).
  • Then divide the dough into three equal parts and roll into three thin strips. Then, braid these strips the same way you would braid long hair.
  • Then beat the other egg and use a brush to brush the dough with it.
  • Place the braided dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper or greased with butter.
  • Bake this bread in an oven preheated to 200ºC for 20 to 25 minutes.

  • 70 grams brown sugar or honey (70 g)

  • Raisins soaked in brandy, brandy, rum, or other spirits (whatever you prefer)

Preparation

  • Mix the warm milk, yeast, 3 tablespoons flour and 1 tablespoon sugar in a deep bowl. Then cover the bowl and let the dough double in volume (about 15 minutes).
  • In another bowl, mix together the rest of the flour, the remaining sugar and the zest of the lemon and orange. Make a well in the center and add the salt, butter, 2 eggs, warm milk and the risen dough you just made. Mix everything together with your hands first and then knead the dough again on the counter until it is soft and elastic.
  • Then divide the dough into two parts, cover with a tea towel and let the dough rise until it has doubled in size.
  • Then use a rolling pin to make two rectangles from the two pieces of dough. Sprinkle some raisins, almonds and walnuts on top. Then roll up the dough and knead it some more so that all the ingredients you just added are all over the dough.
  • Cover with another tea towel and let the loaves rise until they have doubled in size (this will take about an hour).
  • Brush the tops of the two loaves with a beaten egg and then bake for 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 º C.
